Coffee & Computers are always keen to hear from volunteers who can help our learners with the basic digital skills to use smartphones, tablets and laptops. Volunteers would also have the opportunity to help with other essential tasks like organising and publicising our sessions, creating support guides and tutorials, and helping to manage our website and social media pages.
We hold regular group sessions (both online and in-person) where we pair learners with volunteers to give help on specific digital-related issues or questions. Volunteers support learners by explaining (or showing) how to perform simple digital tasks and helping to resolve basic technical issues. We also do occasional talks or demos on particular topics or digital activities, and we are hoping to offer themed workshops or tutorial sessions in the future.
You don’t need to an IT expert to volunteer with Coffee & Computers, just have a basic understanding of day-to-day digital activities, be good at problem solving, and keen to help others learn new skills. Most important is to have lots of patience and the ability to explain things clearly and slowly to our (mainly elderly) learners.
If you are interested in helping please complete the form below and one of the team will get back to you as soon as possible. Many Thanks.
